“Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?” John 7:14-18
Those who taught at the temple, actually had the audacity to openly question the learning of The Lord Jesus: The Living Word of God in flesh!
The Lord had not graduated from the schools where they had learned their “…letters…” therefore, those religious scholars, deemed Jesus unapproved to be speaking to them about “…doctrine…” Look at the Lord’s answer to them.
“Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.” John 7:16-17
Many ask if Baptist Bible Colleges are accredited to grant degrees. But what does that really mean for a Scripturally, doctrinally orientated, Authorized King James, Independent, Non-affiliated Baptist?
Is the government qualified to grant accreditation to the things pertaining to The Word of God? Is a man qualified to do so? And if he is; who gave him that approval? Who or what gave out the first “…letters…” of accreditation? And what is the rule of measure upon which accreditation is to be based?
The Apostle Paul touched on this same subject in II Corinthians 3:1-3.
“Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.”
The carnal believers at the church in Corinth, were also concerned about having some kind of written “…letters…” of approval. Paul received his “…doctrine…” from The Lord Jesus; and, directly from The Holy Ghost of God! As was the lesson with the answer of Jesus, It is the “…letters…” of the words approved by God’s Book which are to be learned and received into the “…heart…” The Lord’s facilitation of this is Ordination
For centuries many Baptists, have followed the methods of Protestantism, which place accreditation, in the form of an educational degree; above being Scripturally “…ordained…” That delegated responsibility falls mainly upon an “…ordained…” Pastor; under the authority of a local, doctrinally correct, Independent Baptist Church. A Pastor is the only person authorized by God’s Word, to grant any kind of approval for someone to serve in the ministry of The Lord’s kind of Churches.
Only a Pastor who has been “…ordained…” by the same words and “…doctrine…,” which all began with The Eternal God; can then ordain others! The Old Paths Preparatory School will provide the instruction of the “…doctrine…” of “…the faith…”needed to “…ordain…” future servants for the ministry. Being “…ordained…” by a local Baptist Church, is far more important than the accreditation of any educational institution.
